On October 27, the much-anticipated “Medicine Buddha’s Birthday Blessing Ceremony to Eliminate Disasters and Extend Life” was held on a grand scale! The sky was filled with auspicious clouds and the air was permeated with sweet joy, as if Medicine Buddha and all the deities were personally present to witness the extraordinary assembly.
Entering the venue, guests were greeted by the glorious giant Medicine Buddha Thangka. The glazed lamps and longevity tablets lined up in front of Buddha, carrying the sincere wishes from the offerors! The sacred thousand-year-old Pali Buddhist Scriptures shine through the grand hall with brilliance, blessing every participant with peace, joy and good fortune! People can’t help but kneel in front of it, paying homage to Buddha and praying for Buddha’s blessing to help fulfill their wishes to eliminate disasters and prolong life, to gain wisdom and illumination!
The event kicked off with wonderful offerings by the Center’s volunteers on behalf of the public under the auspice of the Director of Toronto Bodhi Meditation, wishing Medicine Buddha joyous and all participants happy!
As everyone chanted “Medicine Buddha’s Heart Mantra” to praise the compassionate vows of Medicine Buddha, they also prayed together, dedicating the merits to all sentient beings for peace and good fortune.

Ji Chun made a wish and prayed in front of the Buddha, and her wish came true a few hours later! She marveled at the miraculous blessing power of Medicine Buddha!
The sharing by Bodhi Meditation practitioners at the event inspired every guest! After the ceremony, people lined up to make offerings to Medicine Buddha, to pay homage to the thousand-year-old Buddhist Scriptures, and offer incense in front of the Buddha.
The activities attracted guests old and young….they eagerly walked on the “gold floor” to welcome wealth and fortune! They also dedicated themselves to copying sutras to accumulate merits. There was coloring activities for the kids and those young at hearts. 1 on 1 energy healing was a favorite as always! Oracle reading was popular as people sought guidance for their problems and questions. There was also the Fortune Wheel, Pumpkin Zen Garden, and inviting blessed gifts home and making auspicious offerings to help fulfill their wishes! There were a lot to see and a lot to do. Last but not the least, the healthy and savory snacks made the whole event even more delicious!
